Lead Engineer - Thermoplastics, Compound Injection Molding

To support the Advanced engineering department at our location in Bochum, Germany, we are looking for

Lead engineer thermoplastics (m/w/d)

Main Activities:
  • Provide product/process technical support in the innovation, acquisition, development, and production phase
  • Develop and validate new formulations in line with internal strategy and customer specifications and trends
  • Contribute to innovation & sustainable projects in the field of extrusion & injection
  • Cover the field from material manufacturing to downstream processing
  • Have the technical mastery of the field of expertise, also including the economic impacts
  • Solve problems and optimize costs, quality, and capacity
  • Carry out a technological watch in the field
  • Provide standards to factories and development teams.
  • Provide specifications for raw materials and semi-finished products
  • Contribute to the training of technology users
  • Travel and support our production sites in installation of CIM equipment, production lines
Profile:
  • M.Sc. in Engineering, Materials Science or Chemistry
  • At least 2 years related industry experience
  • Good knowledge of thermoplastics, compounding, extrusion and injection
  • Knowledge of Compound Injection Molding (CIM) process and machinery
  • Knowledge of materials and technologies of interior and sound insulation components in automotive industry preferable
  • Experience in managing technical projects
  • Experience in Design of Experiments and Advanced Problem Solving Methodology preferred
  • Autonomy and flexibility skills in a complex environment
  • Proficient in English
  • Personal engagement and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel across our European sites
