We are looking for an experienced Senior Production Manager for our location in Desio.
Main objective:
- Oversee the entire plant production both in terms of process and people management
- Responsible for planning & budgeting, understanding and presentation of financial data
Note: it is envisaged that this position holder will have potential to become a Plant Manager. We are looking for experienced senior-level candidates with ability to understand and interpret financial data, P&L experience as well as operations experience – a wider scope than regular production management.
Main Activities:
- Lead, coordinate, coach and grow the production team leaders, shift leaders and operators.
- Verify execution of production schedules, implement corrections as necessary.
- Ensure production activities meet goals in terms of adherence to cycle time, scrap and waste.
- Support the production planning, taking into account resources (labour and equipment).
- Communicate with the OEM customers on regular basis, participate in escalations, review, audits, and other customer-related activities.
- Decide with the maintenance manager on any activities to be added to the preventive maintenance plan to improve departmental capacity and performance.
- Maintain constant relationship with other company functions, such as: Logistics, Quality, Maintenance, Technical Services.
- Develop team performance and skills through training and motivation.
- Ensure that quality standards are in accordance with APG policy and local regulations.
- Ensure that production activities are organized in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Actively cooperate with the Plant Manager on all HSE-related activities.
- Promote Continuous Improvement through the application of lean production.
Requirements:
- University Degree in Engineering, Management Engineering or similar
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in a similar role managing production departments and related functions (e.g. operations management)
- Excellent leadership and team development skills
- JIT and/or JIS production experience mandatory
- Solid understanding of financial data, P&L exposure and good user of MS Excel
- Automotive supplier manufacturing experience
- Good knowledge in health and safety issues
- Good knowledge of Lean Production principles
- Fluent Italian and English
