He is responsible for designing, analyzing, improving, and optimizing thermal management systems to ensure the optimal operation of vehicles. This includes heat management for battery systems, electric motors, power electronic systems, and other key components. A significant part of this role also involves coupling the thermal and acoustic properties of automotive interior materials to reduce the power consumption of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop thermal management systems for components of electric vehicles, including battery systems and electric motors.
  • Work closely with the design team to select interior materials that provide an optimal balance between thermal and acoustic properties, thereby contributing to the vehicle's energy efficiency.
  • Use modeling and simulation software to predict the thermal behavior of systems and components, and to assist in the design and optimization of systems.
  • Conduct thermal analyses to evaluate the performance of systems and components, identify performance issues, and propose solutions.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to integrate thermal and acoustic management systems into the overall vehicle design.
  • Stay updated on the latest research and technologies in thermal and acoustic management for electric vehicles, and propose innovations to improve the performance of vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and standards in thermal and acoustic management.

Required Skills:

  • Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field with a specialization in thermodynamics or heat transfer.
  • Proven experience in designing and analyzing thermal management systems for electric vehicles.
  • Experience with the coupling of thermal and acoustic properties of materials, and their impact on the energy efficiency of HVAC systems.
  • Solid skills in thermal and acoustic modeling and simulation.
  • Deep understanding of the operating principles of electric vehicles, including battery systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to share technical information with various audiences.
  • Fluent English required and fluent German preferred
